Event description:

When you accept the role and responsibility as Project Manager on a project, the organization is
entrusting you to be the steward and driver of that particular investment. While you may not have much
direct authority over the project resources, you are still the leader of this effort – a leader who needs to
work through the very real challenges of getting a diverse set of people all working towards a common
goal (which may be something the organization has not done before). This interactive and exercise-
intensive 1-day session will focus on some of the challenging, but very key, topics for project leadership.
Learning Objectives
 To advance Project Management effectiveness by focusing on the real challenges of
o Conflict Management
o Negotiation
o Decision Making
o Contract Management
o Improved Communication Techniques
 To reiterate and deepen the understanding of the expectations and duties a Project Manager
as the key driver of progress on any project.

Learning Tools
 Participants will work on exercises independently but share learnings as a group.
 Participants will be asked to come to the session ready to work on a project in which they are
involved that has either recently started or is planned to begin in the very near future.
 Participants are welcome to bring their laptops/tablets, etc (through not mandatory) for use on
the exercises
