The Sustainable Opportunity Development Center, Inc. (The SOD Center) announces the opening of The SOD Training Center November 1st, 2018.

The SOD Training Center offers a location in Salem, Ohio to help meet the training needs of area businesses.  The center is designed as a local resource which provides fully equipped spaces for employee job training as well as coordinating classes to aid in workforce development.

The SOD Center is a private not-for-profit 501c(3) economic development organization serving the City of Salem and surrounding areas.  The SOD Center mission is to support business attraction, retention, expansion, entrepreneurship, infrastructure, quality of life and workforce development by connecting and collaborating with regional, state and national resources.

Julie Needs, Executive Director of The SOD Center, commented that “We are very excited to bring high-quality training to not only Salem, but also Columbiana and Mahoning counties that will assist in workforce development for our local businesses.”

The fully-equipped SOD Training Center is available for rent by all industries, businesses, organization, training providers and other entities to meet the needs of our current and future workforce.  Spaces are available for both large and small groups with equipment and technology to help deliver effective training for current and future workforce.

The SOD Training Center will also offer courses and workshops to facilitate workforce development.  With a focus on safety training, new-hire onboarding, leadership development, workplace improvement, skills advancement and soft skills, Training Administrator, Lesley Kline stated, “The SOD Training Center will function as a facilitator, bringing professional trainers to our local community to offer cooperative training opportunities.”
