SOD Center Awarded Regional Job Training Grant

Exciting NEWS! The SOD Center has recently been awarded the Ohio Governor's Office of Appalachia Regional Job Training Grant for The Salem Area Industrial Training Center and Workforce Initiative.

The Center will be designed to give all area industries and businesses access to a fully equipped location they can use for employee job training, from onboarding new employees to continuing education, safety training, OSHA training, equipment training, skills advancement, and more. Local companies will also be able to pool resources to conduct larger group training on shared topics.

The Workforce Initiative is a partnership with the Salem High School Alumni Association and local businesses to educate high school students on career opportunities through a roving counselor, pairing them up with businesses and the Alumni Association vocational scholarships to employ them upon graduation.

It is a very exciting time at The SOD Center. Watch for more updates coming soon.
