Members of the community and local businesses have the opportunity to become certified or re-certified in CPR/AED and First Aid through a partnership between the Salem Area Safety Council, the SOD Training Center, and the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce. The three local organizations are working together to provide the courses for a reduced fee.

The Salem Area Safety Council will provide the American Red Cross training at the SOD Training Center, with the Salem Area Chamber of Commerce and the SOD Training Center underwriting some of the cost. Lori Jewell, Executive Director of the Chamber, wants to see community organizations “working together to support each other and grow our community.”

A CPR/AED Re-certification class is scheduled for Monday, June 17th from 5-8:30pm. Participants must hold a current CPR/AED certification to register, and the cost is $45. On Tuesday, June 18th a CPR/AED certification class will be offered from 9am-12:30pm and a First Aid class will take place the same day from 1-4:30pm. Registration for these courses is $65. In addition to these reduced fee classes, Salem Area Safety Council members are eligible for an additional discount that offers ½ off for one attendee in either course.
