Event description:

This course requires a minimum of 8 participants. At least four business days notice and a full refund will be issued in the event of cancellation. Registration deadline to meet minimum is February 3, 2020. 

A renowned Japanese expert on quality management, Kaoru Ishikawa, developed seven basic tools to manage quality. Ishikawa claims 95 percent of quality related problems can be resolved through the correct application of these seven tools.

This training course begins the journey toward understanding and using these tools to achieve continual improvement. Upon completion of this training, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the seven tools of quality
  • Choose the correct tool for each situation 
  • Know how to use each of the tools
  • Interpret the results of each of the tools 


John Novak, CQA, works with clients to enhance their continuous improvement efforts and improve business processes. He draws on his experience as an industrial engineer, consultant, software developer and internal auditor. John has worked with healthcare, manufacturing and service industries. Clients include Akron General Medical Center, Aultman Hospital, Elyria Foundry, The M.K. Morse Company, TechniGraphics, University Hospitals and W.W. Grainger. He received his Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt from Kent State University. John earned a master’s degree in finance from Kent State University and a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing technology from Bowling Green State University.
